Society

Our society is brainwashed. Now a days people will most likely judge you on your appearance, not on you background. Society and mass media fill out minds with poison; it leads people to become something they are not.

Women and young girls are told that to be beautiful you need to be skinny, have perfect teeth, perfect hair, perfect nose, clear skin, long legs, and large breasts. Girls are expected to look like plastic dolls. From my fourteen years of experiencing life I have seen the world evolve. When I was younger girls wore modest clothing. Now parents dress their kids in strong perfume, long dangling earrings, make up, and their own little heels! Heck, at that young age shouldn't they be taught to wear, do and say the right things? What can we do when everyone is doing the same thing? Some people don't feel good about themselves if they don't wear 10 lbs. of make up on their face and clothes small enough to not hide anything. What happened?

Media has fed the minds of people with GARBAGE. No longer do people believe that your imperfections are what make you perfect. They turn the beautiful curly locks for medicated straight hair. They fix up their straight hair for curly hair. Beautiful chocolate skin is forced white while people with fair skin bathe in darkening creams and machines. Plastic surgery has been a desire for many women; whether it be for enlarging breasts or butt, lypo-sucking fat, thinning or thicken of lips -fighting the nature of life. Fighting the nature of them selves. People are becoming fake with out even realizing it.

People are changing. We need to be true to ourselves and accept others. We shouldn't judge people by the way they dress or look. Don't judge anyone at all. We must remember that beauty comes from with in; not designer clothes, not expensive make-up. No one's perfect, not me not you, not your dog, not your parents, not even the president but being yourself is the closest to getting there. Be yourself, because that's what makes you special, not one else can be you.

.... “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”

Popcorn

Starting a rumor is like popping popcorn. At first the truth and secrets are hidden and seemingly safe behind the walls of a hard shell but soon the heat and pressure of influence break through the tough covers and get to the sensitive center and turn everything inside out until it bursts and can't be fixed.

Popcorn is pretty much a fun snack to eat and prepare; from when you start cooking and hear the sporadic pop-pop-pop to the time when your pour it's contents and have the warm smell of butter waft up your nose and when you finally have it in your lap and you're chatting with family and friends or watching a movie. You enjoy everything until you find the need to wash the saltiness down and have gunk stuck in your teeth.

Talking about the latest gossip is an enjoyable topic. When you hear news about a neighbor or classmate you most likely get giddy with interest and pipe up your ears with attention. You process the words of the story teller into your head and make your own interpretation of the story and pass it on to a friend or two who then again passes it on themselves. Soon everybody knows different versions of a fraud tale and everyone is content; Until they feel guilty and can't take anything back.

Gossiping and rumor breaking is a subject we can't avoid; whether it be mass media or small town tell tales. Sometimes you're the subject and sometimes your the messenger. The point is that you need to be careful of what you do and what you say because people can get to the core and  twist and turn things to their own liking. People enjoy gossip; even if it's wrong. Once something is said, you can't take it back. Even if you really wanted to.

Basically; Pop popcorn not rumors! :D There are no consequences in eating a snack that everyone can enjoy. In spreading rumors, someone always gets the shorter end of the stick; you hurt people for your own enjoyment.

REMEMBER:

All things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye so to them; for this is the law and the prophets.
      Matthew 7:1

PS: Don''t forget the Movie theater butter!

God Bless you and your popcorn! :))

I am the Master of my Fate. I am the Captain of my Soul.

Do you want someone to make decisions for you? Of course not! As a human being you have the right and need to make your own choices. If you were to make the wrong decision there would be no else to blame but yourself  then again, when you find you mad the right choice you will feel achieved!

If you ever have a tricky question think this; "Is it better to get as much out of the moment as possible? Will knowing you experienced the enjoyment of everything be better than the actual conclusion? If you want to get as much out the moment as possible for a few hours are you willing to suffer for the next years to come?" Or in another sense; Are you willing to suffer for just a few years and get the happy ever after? These may seem like simple questions, but whatever your decision, they will make great impact to your future; you make or you break it.

As a student, I have choices and decisions. Choices and decisions that at the moment probably should be simple but in the end, will I make or will I brake it? I have choices between friendships and schoolwork, to focus or enjoy, what course to major in college, what shoes to wear, if my shirt goes with my jeans, if I have to buy extra pens, all these questions should be pretty easy to answer but why is it so hard to pick the right one? Sometimes you ask the opinion of others, sometimes you take notes on what people think, sometimes you follow the family legacy, sometimes you follow your gut. In the end you are alone. You will do what you please. You will make decisions for yourself. You are master of your fate and you alone are the Captain of your Soul.
